Maia is a young woman living with functional neurological disorder who leads a full and inspiring life. “My life is full of challenges, but also full of love, joy and fulfilment. I have Jakob, Bailey and lots of friends. My disability doesn’t define me. I’m Maia, and I live my life to the fullest,” she says. Together with her assistance dog, whom she raised and trained herself, she encourages others to take an active approach to life. In her spare time, she educates her audience about her disability and assistance dogs. Her videos often highlight social barriers, sharing both the difficult and positive experiences of living with a disability. Marcel Petrov’s documentary reveals the strength, determination and independence with which Maia navigates everyday challenges, while also exploring the prejudices that people with disabilities continue to face.

A documentary exploring the drug problems facing schools today. What exactly counts as a drug, which substances can schoolchildren actually access, and why aren’t they banned? These questions unfold through the stories of promising graphic designer Denisa Holubová, who is trying to overcome her addiction, and Tereza Hodanová—known as Teri Blitzen—who recently spoke publicly about her own. Having overcome her addiction, Teri now seeks to help young people struggling with mental health issues. Together with Teri, can we find a way forward and understand why increasing numbers of young people are becoming addicted to drugs and experiencing mental health problems? Which drugs were, until recently, entirely legal in schools—and why?

“We’re not going to have children” is a statement that stirs emotions, often provoking disappointment, disapproval and incomprehension. By bringing two worlds into direct confrontation—people experiencing homelessness and local government—the film reveals a fundamental gap between political rhetoric and the actual availability of social support. It explores the deeper causes of social exclusion and asks how systemic failings in housing, social policy and public policy contribute to it. Are political leaders addressing the heart of the problem? And do we realise how easy it is to fall through the cracks, and how difficult it is to find a way back? These uncomfortable questions challenge us to reconsider assumptions we often take for granted. The film opens an important debate about our collective responsibility and about who remains unable to access help, and why.

It all started when the family of a rich farmer, Stanek, moved to a small village and his daughter Liduška fell in love with a poor violinist, Toník. However, her parents did not approve of her love and decided to marry her to the son of the landowner Krejzová, even though the girl rejected the unsympathetic man. When her parents did not back down, Liduška was determined to run away with Toník, but when she learned that her beloved had been called up for military service, in despair she gave in to her parents' pressure and agreed to the wedding...

Getting out of prison doesn't mean being free. After the bloody suppression of the Prague Revolution in 1848, one of its participants, the writer František Vinický, spent eight years in prison. Returning to Prague in 1857, he tries to make contact with his former friends. The main one is his former comrade-in-arms Antoš. Of course, the man's steps also lead him to his former love Ida, who has been married to the councillor Mayer for several years. Vinicky is followed at practically every turn by the secret police, who will not allow him to get a decent job, let alone publish his new book. Police Councillor Berger makes it clear to the writer that a lot could be arranged if Vinicky would commit to cooperating...

Lenka is a high-earning manager in the global finance sector. She lives for her work and is on the verge of achieving success in her life: if she manages to close a deal with a Turkish company, she will become the director of the company for the whole of Asia. However, because of her work, she neglects her loved ones—her husband Jiří, a university professor, and her teenage son Patrik, who is currently experiencing his first relationship. A foolish bet with her son that she can skate more than 100 meters on roller skates proves fatal – she wins the bet, but immediately breaks both her wrists.

The aging police commissioner, who has a twenty-five-year-old fiancée, Olga, is disturbed at his sixtieth birthday party by the news from the administrator Psekov that his master, the cornet Klyausov, has been murdered. A commission, headed by an investigating judge, is sent to the estate of the debauched nobleman. The decisive evidence is a Swedish match.
